The online version of the Bibliografia romana is a specialized research bibliography treating Italian and foreign publications on many subjects, printed from 1989 onwards. These regard the city of Rome from the Middle Ages to today.

The original project started in 1994 as a collaboration among scientific and cultural Institutions based in Rome. It produced a retrospective bibliography on paper and CD-ROM that contained circa ten thousand bibliographic items: Bibliografia romana 1989-1998, Cittą di Castello, Edimond 2004.

The online database represents the development of this project. It is an easily-accessible and constantly up-dated source of information.

The data entered into the bibliography (monographs, articles, etc.) come from the catalogues of the participating institutions, analytical entries taken from periodicals, miscelleana as well as from specialized and general bibliographic databases.
