Useful link http://www.study-in-italy.it/living/health-services.html In Italy, the national healthcare system is provided by a public healthcare service (ASL - Aziende Sanitarie Locali). Only foreign citizens with a valid stay card or residence permit may apply for the service.
EU students are required to have the E111 or any equivalent
form to benefit from the health service coverage.
To register bring: Non-EU students must show evidence of a certified health insurance coverage (it is recommended to have a copy certified by the Italian Consulate or Embassy). We recommend the Europ Assistance with an annual cost around 730 Euro. All information can be found at the following link: http://www.europassistance.it/pagine/Assistance_insurance_benefits.aspx If you decide to proceed, please note that you will need our signatutre on the insurance contract if you hold only the student visa to enter Italy but not the residence permit. Otherwise you can arrange coverage through other insurance agents.
