Present position: Collaborator of the Center for Evolutionary Ecology.

Research interests: Macroevolution and evolutionary ecology, crocodile cladistics, geometric morphometrics and evolution.

Ph.D. achieved in Geodynamics: "Theoretical morphology of crocodile skull by mean of 3 and 2-dimensional geometric morphometrics". Supervisors: Prof. T. Kotsakis (Roma Tre University) and Prof. Angela Delgado Buscalioni (Universidad Autonoma de Madrid).

 

 


Pasquale Raia, M.S., Ph.D.

Research interests: Mammalian community evolution, assembly, and mammals palaeobiology. Recostruction of fossil mammals body size and feeding habits. Evolution of mammals on islands.

Ph.D. Thesis in Ecological Sciences (2004): "The evolutionary ecology of large mammal communities of Italy during the Ice Ages". Supervisors: Prof. A. Loy (University of Molise) and Prof. T. Kotsakis (Roma Tre University).

 

 


Federica Marcolini, M.S., Ph.D.

Research interestsOld and New World rodent, with a particular emphasis on Pliocene and Pleistocene arvicolids. Morphometry and applied mathematics as well as quantitative statistical methods applied to palaeontology. Mediterranean insular domains and the evolution of their mammal fauna. Paleosols, tephras and small mammals, biochronology of Late Cenozoic basins.

Ph.D. Thesis in Earth Sciences (2002), curriculum Biostratigraphy, Palaeoecology, Palaeobiology:Continental Lower Valdarno rodent biochronology and two new  methods for the systematics of Mimomys (Arvicolidae, Rodentia)”.
