Welcome!
The
1st International Symposium on the Biology of Acinetobacter was held in Manchester
(UK)
in 1986. Subsequent meetings have been held in Paris (FR) 1990, Edinburgh (UK)
1994, Eilat (IL) 1996, Noordwijkerhout (NL) 2000, Dublin
(IR) 2004 and Barcelona
(ES) 2006. The aim of these meetings is
to provide an informal international forum in which to discuss all aspects of
the genus Acinetobacter. In particular, it is hoped to stimulate
discussion and collaboration between medical and non-medical microbiologists,
all of whom deal with this ubiquitous group of organisms in the course of their
working lives. The meetings are renowned for their excellent value and
for their friendly and informal atmosphere. In particular, they provide an
ideal opportunity for students to meet the experts and present their own
research work at a not-for-profit international congress which is largely
organised by the participants themselves.
The
8th International Symposium on the Biology of Acinetobacter will be held at the University of Roma Tre in the beautiful
and historic city of Rome
(IT) on 1 – 3 September 2010. Please click on the links provided to

‘family’ in Rome
and become part of this tradition.
