Main research fields

The main scientific interest is towards Experimental Aerodynamics, including:

  • Aerodynamic and Aeroacoustics of round Jets;

  • Compressible and incompressible attached and separated boundary layers;

  • Jets in cross-flow;

  • Statistics and modelling of homogeneous and isotropic turbulence;

  • Coherent structures in turbulent shear flows;

  • Advanced signal processing techniques;

  • Cavity flows;

  • Dynamics of propeller wakes;  

  • Convective turbulence;

  • Turbulent combustion in premixed flames;

  • Transitional convection in closed domains.



Applied research studies

  • Aerodynamics of helicopter rotor blades;

  • Wind tunnel design and qualification (including blockage);

  • Application of hot wire methodologies (measurements within Icing Wind Tunnels and in compressible flows);

  • Design of wind turbines;

  • Design of solar collectors;  

  • Application of commercial numerical codes for industrial problems (codes Fluent, Cd Star).


He authored and co-authored more than 170 publications.
